bioEdwin Remell Hurd is a Tulsa, Oklahoma native now residing in San Diego, California with his wife Sylvia Crane-Hurd. His interest in photography began when he was a 19-year-old college student. Edwin's passion for photography resparked following a vacation in Cancun, Mexico in 1995.By 2000 he left his job of 18 years at Hewlett-Packard Company to pursue a career in freelance photography doing business as Photography! by Edwin R. Hurd. Edwin's business mission centers around providing graphic design products as well as photographic stock imagery for publications and other clients seeking high quality image content in subjects relating but not limited to travel, scenic, sports, and event coverage. Edwin's photographic images have appeared in various publications including Oklahoma Today Magazine, Tulsa Cityscape Magazine, The Annual Report For The City Of Tulsa, Inside Tulsa Magazine, The Oklahoma Eagle Newspaper, Urban Tulsa Weekly, the Tulsa World newsapaper, AAA of Oklahoma's Home & Away Magazine, and Hewlett-Packard Company's Measure Magazine. The Oklahoma Press Association selected one of Edwin's photographs published in the March 22, 2001 edition of The Oklahoma Eagle as "Best Photography for a Weekly Newspaper". His interest in page layout and professional publishing led Edwin to enroll fulltime at Platt College of San Diego, Inc. In July, 2003 Edwin completed the requirements for an Associate of Applied Science degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia, with a 3.84 Grade Point Average. Edwin is a 1973 graduate of Booker T. Washington High in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in December, 1978 from the University of Oklahoma. |
